Course Description
This qualification will allow you to develop the specialised skills and knowledge required to provide support, advocacy or intervention to individuals, groups or communities across a range of services including community service, case work or case management.
CHC42021 Certificate IV in Community Services gives you the skills to design and deliver personalised service to individuals or groups, make a valuable impact in people’s lives by giving high-quality care and case management expertise in areas including mental health, child protection, domestic violence, disability, alcohol and drugs.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
You will be required to complete the Learning, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment to identify any Learning Support needs we can assist you with.
It is recommended that you understand basic business and technology ideas, which may have been acquired through previous training, qualifications and/or work experience.
You will be required to access and use technology to complete the learning assessment activities and resources within this course.
You may be assessed in a number of ways, including observation, written assessment, questioning, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning. Please note, your assessor will advise you of the method of assessment prior to commencing each unit of competency.
Observation, where a trainer will directly observe your performance of activities in a real or simulated workplace, role play or exercise, or a demonstration of practical skills. This will occur both within the classroom environment and within your practical work placement hours.
Written assessments can take a number of forms including case studies, assignments, projects, workbooks, presentations, reports, reflective tasks, self-evaluation, and research projects.
Questioning could take the form of written question and answers, such as examinations or could also be spoken questions and answers.
Third-party feedback is information we gather from the people supervising you throughout your Work placement hours. This will be formally documented with a work placement observation workbook which is supplied to you through your course.
