Course Description
Establish valuable skills and basic knowledge and gain hands-on experience with this entry-level qualification in retail services. You will become competent in a range of activities and skills within the retail sector.
You will learn how to engage customers and work effectively in a service environment, how to produce visual merchandise displays, organise and maintain the store environment, and advise on products and services.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including specialty retailers, supermarkets, department stores and quick service restaurants.
Individuals with this qualification can perform roles such as frontline team member, customer service assistant and point-of-sale operator.

Attend a campus to learn face-to-face with a teacher in one space, such as a classroom, workshop, laboratory, or simulated environments, or interact with teachers using real-time video or web conference tools.
Our courses delivered on campus have a combination of online and classroom-based learning. You will also be expected to undertake additional personal study to complete the course requirements.
You will be required to access and use technology to complete the learning assessment activities and resources within this course.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
To study an apprenticeship or traineeship program you will need a written agreement/contract as an apprentice or trainee with your employer.
Employers will need to be able to provide the necessary human and physical resources to qualify for an apprentice.
You will be required to complete the Learning, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment to identify any learning support you may need.

- Co-contribution Fees – User Choice program $1.60 per nominal hour for each unit of competency & 3CG Concessional $11 and non-concessional $33 for the qualification

This qualification is also offered as a traineeship funded under the User Choice program – funded by the Queensland Government.
Student Contribution Fee is the non-government financial contribution to the cost of the training and assessment services that are provided by the training provider. The fee is paid to the training provider. Under the User Choice program, the student contribution fee is set at $1.60 per nominal hour for each unit of competency. Your employer may choose to pay the student contribution fee on your behalf.

Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways, including observation, written assessment, questioning, third-party feedback, and if you are currently working in the industry, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning.
