Course Description

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a concise and life-saving course. It focuses on the key tenets of providing CPR in line with current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

Participants will be provided with the skills and knowledge required to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies and to perform CPR, a lifesaving technique that can sustain life until an ambulance arrives. 

Successful completion of this skill set will give you the confidence to respond in emergency situations while at work or in the community.

This course can be completed at one of our campuses all year round.

Pre-reading and theory assessment precede the three-hour practical skills workshop.

You will receive a small first aid kit and a first aid textbook.

This course will be offered at:

Brisbane Campus – Level 1, 433 Boundary Street, Brisbane

Blackstone Campus – 14 Hill Street, Blackstone

  • Appropriate application for CPR 
  • Using the DRSABCD first aid strategy to assess and manage emergency situations 
  • How to use an automatic defibrillator (AED) 

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

To meet assessment requirements, you are required to demonstrate two minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR on an adult manikin on the floor, as well as two minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR on an infant manikin.
